What to See
- Berry Picking
During the summer months, explore the long time tradition of berry picking in the tundra. Bring along your friends and a basket and collect a variety of berries including blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and salmonberries.
- Bird Watching
Have your binoculars ready as you track down interesting as well as rare birds, some of which can be found only in the Yukon Kuskokwim Delta. Call the Wildlife Refuge for the best spots in Bethel to see the birds of this region. 907-543-3151
- Dog Mushing
The sport of dog mushing is very much alive here in Bethel. The homes of racing dog teams, referred to as dog yards, can be found in many neighborhoods in Bethel. Visit these athletic K-9's and talk to their handler to learn more about the sport of dog mushing. Call the K300Race Committee for more information. 907-543-3300
- Flight Seeing
Experience the scenery from a bird's eye view. Bethel has nine different airlines which operate daily, traveling to many surrounding villages. Have your cameras ready as you fly over the rivers of the YK Delta and have a chance to see wildlife in action.
- Weekly Chamber Luncheon
The Chamber's weekly luncheon features a wide range of guest speakers from our local community plus state and national speakers who address business issues. The public is encouraged to attend.
- Nature Walk
Take a hike through the tundra and explore Bethel's terrain. Discover the many plants, blossoms and and berries that flourish on our tundra.
- Pinky's Park
This park has 22 acres with a 1.9 mile boardwalk over the tundra. Enjoy a fun filled day outside with a baseball field, basketball court and playground. This spot is a town favorite for watching the sun rise and set.
- Seawall
Take a stroll along the seawall and see locals fishing for lush, whitefish and other species. Observe boats and barges as they sail down the Kuskokwim River. This is also a great place to watch the sun set.

Every Thursday attend the Chamber luncheon.
- Arts and Crafts
Visit the Art Guild and see what the area's finest artists have been busy creating - from breathtaking
photography to jewelry and home-made bath salts. The Art Guild is open three days a week: Wed: 3-6pm, Fri: 4-7pm, Sat: 12-6pm. 907-543-5876
- Alaska Hovercraft
Enjoy the experience of a lifetime! Take a ride on the only operating passenger hovercraft in the United States. Bring a bagged lunch and learn how the mail is distributed to villages of the YK Delta. 907-543-1919
- Bethel Youth Center
Here you will find many activities for your children and teenagers. The Bethel Youth Center offers a variety of fun classes throughout the year, including art and cooking. There is also a gym available,
equipped with free weights, treadmills and other equipment. The gym is available to anyone regardless of age. If you are not up for breaking a seat, you can grab a hot snack at the snack bar and play a friend in a game of foosball. Other
activities include: Pool table, bumper pool, air hockey, pin pong and many board games. You will also find a computer lab to check your email and surf the web. Call 907-543-2088 for more information.
- Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge
The Wildlife Refuge is an excellent place to learn about the area's wildlife, and how it is part of everyone's life in Bethel and surrounding villages. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are always available for an
interactive lesson about the YK Delta's wildlife, and answer any questions.
- YKHC
The Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation has displays of traditional native arts and crafts, including baskets, masks and rain coats. This is an excellent place to visit and see native art work of the YK Delta. 907-543-6300
- Cultural Center
The Cultural Center is where many events, including dance lessons, concerts, training classes and the seasonal Saturday Market are located. Art work is also on display throughout the facility. The Cultural Center is home to a gift shop including postcards, videos, books and other
interesting novelties about Bethel and the YK Delta. The Public Library of Bethel is also within the complex. There are often free books given away on a daily basis, as well as fun

Cama-i Dance FestivalA Celebration of Culture and Dance
Sponsored by the Bethel Council of the Arts, Cama-i is a 3 day event in April. Dancers from other states and countries participate along with regional dancers. Celebrate the common language of dance!
